PKA Probes
Description
Product Information
PKA probes are “absolute probes”
The name “absolute sensor“ is derived from the fact that the absolute value of the voltage induced in the test coil is measured by PKA probes. The signal for a defect-free test object or for an empty coil is overlaid by the signal of a defect or a change to the properties of the test body. This means that the test signal is not only influenced by defects, but also by the material properties of the test piece and the environmental conditions. For example, if the sensor heats up during operation, its electrical resistance will change and the absolute value of the induced voltage begins to “drift“. This is the great disadvantage of this sensor system. To suppress interferences of this kind or similar, an additional compensation coil is often incorporated in the circuit. This must be arranged so that there is no interaction with the test body, but environmental influences are effectively suppressed.
