ASTM E1025 plate type penetrameters (IQI’s) are used in the radiographic examination of materials to control the image quality. ASTM E1025 designates 8 groups of shims based on their radiation consumption characteristics. A notching system is incorporated into the requirements, which allows the radiographer to easily determine if the IQI is the correct material for the product.

These IQI’s are available in the following materials:

Steel (FE),

Aluminium (AL),

Copper (CU)

Titanium (TI)

Inconel 600 Alloy (IN)
