Ardrox 9VF2 Fluorescent Penetrant

Ardrox 9VF2

Red dye penetrant that can also be used in fluorescent mode with ultra- violet light.

Ardrox 9VF2 is a red dye penetrant according to EN ISO 3452-2 Type II, which can be removed by water or solvents. Furthermore, it can be used as a fluorescent penetrant according to EN ISO 3452-2 Type III.

Instructions for use

Ardrox 9VF2 may be applied by aerosol, brushing, flow-on, immersion, spray or by swab.

Pre-cleaning and drying

Clean part with cleaner (9PR5 or equivalent) before applying Ardrox 9VF2 fluorescent penetrant. Apply cleaner to the part and wipe clean with cloth. Surface has to be free of grease, oil and dirt. Allow part to dry before applying penetrant.

Penetrant application

Surface temperature should be between -10 and 50°C

Apply a thin even film of Ardrox 9VF2 fluorescent penetrant to cover test area. Allow penetrant 10-30 minutes penetration time before removing.

Penetrant removal 

Remove excess surface penetrant with clean cloths, pre-moistened with cleaner (eg. 9PR5). Alternatively removal can be effected by rinsing with water (for application over 5°C). Do not flush surface with cleaner as sensitivity will be impaired. Repeat procedure until surface with cleaner as sensitivity will be impaired. Repeat procedure until surface penetrant has been removed.

Developer

Shake developer (eg. 9D1B) thoroughly. Spray an even developer film over area to be inspected (spraying distance 20-30cm) Allow 10-30 minutes developing time before evaluation. Optionally evaluation may be made under UV light.
