Magnaflux WCP2 White Contrast Paint

A bright white, opaque NDT contrast paint, WCP2 provides a high contrast background to improve probability of detection and sensitivity during visible magnetic particle inspections.

This fast drying paint aerosol sprays on evenly, without flaking, before inspection so when non-florescent / coloured magnetic particles are applied, the indications appear clearly against the opaque white background. It is low in sulphur and halogens and contains no chlorinated hydrocarbons.

WCP2 can be used with all types of coloured and visible mag particles, including 7HF and 7C Black wet method particles, or #2 Yellow and #8A Red dry method magnetic powders.

Instructions for use

Use 7HF, 7C Black, #2 Yellow or #8A Red and with appropriate magnetization procedure and equipment. For best results, all components, parts, or areas to be tested should be clean and dry prior to testing to provide an optimal test surface and reduce particle suspension contamination. Use with WCP-2 to improve contrast and inspection sensitivity.

1. Shake the can well before use and occasionally during application to ensure suspension uniformity and concentration.
2. Hold the can 7 to 9 inches (18 to 24 cm) from the area to be tested.
3. Allow the film of WCP-2 to dry completely before applying magnetic particles, film typically dries in 60 seconds under ambient conditions.

Removal

Remove WCP2 with acetone for best results.

All components, parts, or inspection areas must be properly demagnetised before cleaning to ensure easy particle removal. Cleaned parts may be treated with a temporary film protective coating if longer corrosion protection is required.

Storage

Store in a well-ventilated area away from magnetising equipment and heat sources. Product age, exposure to elevated temperatures, and / or exposure to a strong magnetic field may adversely affect particle distribution. Please refer to safety data sheet for additional instructions.
