The Magnaflux Y6 switch kit is a replacement switch assembly for the Magnaflux Y6 electromagnetic yoke. The kit contains a switch, diaphragm, cover plate and four nylon screws (2 × 16mm, 2 × 20mm length).

Instructions for use of Y6 Switch Kit:

Remove the nylon screws and take off the cover plate and rubber diaphragm. Scrape off any silicone rubber solution on the edges of the aperture. Pull out the switch and disconnect the wires, either by using a soldering iron or by cutting the wires as close to the switch terminals as possible.

If the latter option is used, ensure that 4-6mm of wire is left exposed. Refit the switch, ensuring that it sits flat in the aperture. Apply silicone rubber solution (Hermitite Silicone Rubber Instant Gasket or equivalent) to all four edges of the aperture and seat in the rubber diaphragm, ensuring that the holes are lined up.

Check that the stepped section is over the switch button. Refit the cover plate using the screws provided. Check the label to see which length of screws is required. Remove the surplus silicone rubber using a cloth and acetone.

Important information regarding the Y6 switch kit:

• Always use new parts; never refit old parts.
• Never use metal screws.
