Johnson and Allen Neopaint NPT16 White Contrast Paint

Neopaint NPT16 is a quick drying white contrast aid paint that has been specifically formulated for use in MPI. NPT16 produces a uniform and solid white background using formulations high in Titanium Dioxide. Neopaint NPT16 is suitable for use with both aqueous and Hydrocarbon based consumable products and can be used in conjunction with either black or red magnetic inks. White Contrast Aid Paint has been specifically formulated for use in Magnetic Particle Inspection procedures. Neopaint gives an excellent surface obliteration using a high Titanium Dioxide content. The dense white background created gives an excellent contrast to highlight defect indications when using Black or Red Magnetic Inks. Neopaint is suitable for use with water based or hydrocarbon inks.

Instructions for use

Use Neocol B with appropriate magnetisation procedure and equipment. For best results, all components, parts, or areas to be tested should be clean and dry prior to testing to provide an optimal test surface and reduce particle suspension contamination. Use with NPT16 to improve contrast and inspection sensitivity.

  1. Shake the can well before use and occasionally during application to ensure suspension uniformity and concentration.
  2. Hold the can 20 to 30cm from the area to be tested.
  3. Allow the film of NPT16 to dry completely before applying magnetic particles, typically dries in under 2 minutes under ambient conditions.

Removal

Remove NPT16 with acetone for best results.

All components, parts, or inspection areas must be properly demagnetised before cleaning to ensure easy particle removal. Cleaned parts may be treated with a temporary film protective coating if longer corrosion protection is required.

Storage

Store in a well-ventilated area away from magnetising equipment and heat sources. Product age, exposure to elevated temperatures, and / or exposure to a strong magnetic field may adversely affect particle distribution. Please refer to safety data sheet for additional instructions.
