EN 462-1 / ISO 19232 wire type Image Quality Indicators (IQI’s) are used in the radiographic examination of materials to control the image quality. Wire IQI’s consist of a set of six wires arranged in order of increasing diameter and encapsulated between two sheets of clear plastic.
These IQI’s are available in the following materials:
Steel (FE),
Aluminium (AL),
Copper (CU)
Titanium (TI)
and available in 4 standard wire set sizes:
1 (material) EN, which contains wires 1- 7
6 (material) EN, which contains wires 6-12
10 (material) EN, which contains wires 10-16
13 (material) EN, which contains wires 13-19
Main features:
The full range of IQI’s are available in wire lengths ranging from 10mm to 100mm in length and with a wire space of either 5.0mm or 2.5mm and have a clearly displayed individual unique serial number for Quality Assurance and Audit purposes.
Each IQI is supplied in an individual wallet containing a general Certificate of Conformity. The individual certificates displays the IQI serial number, wire size, wire type and the standard of the IQI in the wallet
